A Cupar-raised man, who was head of endurance at UK Athletics and now plays an important role in developing sport in South Africa, was awarded the MBE in the New Year Honours. Former British Triathlon Chief Executive, Norman Brook was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s honours list 2014. Norman Brook, who was Chief Executive of British Triathlon from 2000 to 2007, received the award in recognition for his services to social development through sport, particularly in South Africa.
